The Three-Legged Dog (100-Flash Non-Fiction)

You used to visit your great-aunt and -uncle several times a year. The journey took a couple of hours, which often felt longer due to you getting car sickness. They were siblings, but for as long as you knew them they lived together.

Their 200-year old cottage, with its low ceilings and open fire, always brought you much comfort. It illustrated the word cozy perfectly.

Their toilet was outside, which you never ceased to find amazing. Lying against the wall, opposite, was a three-legged dog that always had a reason to wag its tail.

Nobody knew who it belonged to.
